Launch cast checked September 48 profiled characters

Bandai Namco profiles Coen, Brencis, Lacra, Anca, Marat, Xanthe, Ambrus, and Bakir. The launch build also confirms Anca, Marat—known as Crake—and Lacra as Coen's three romance routes.

Who are the confirmed Blood of Dawnwalker characters?

The current official character hub profiles eight people. They are not eight interchangeable companions: the list includes the protagonist, Vale Sangora's ruler, three regional vrakhir boyars, a rebel leader, a figure close to Coen, and an outsider pursuing Brencis.

Coen: the Dawnwalker at the center of the story

Coen begins as a young man responsible for a sick mother and the rest of his family. Bandai Namco's official profile frames his transformation as a test of values rather than a clean power upgrade: becoming a Dawnwalker changes what he can do, but not his determination to protect the people he loves.

That dual nature drives the playable structure. Coen is human during the day and gains vampiric abilities at night, so characters may encounter a person whose options, strengths, and needs change with the time of day. The official material does not describe Coen as a blank custom protagonist; he has an established family, history, and motivation.

For the confirmed day/night mechanics, see the gameplay guide. For the deadline surrounding his family, use the 30-day time-limit guide.

Brencis, Xanthe, Ambrus, and Bakir

Brencis is the Knyaz of Vale Sangora. His official profile says he was born in the ancient Roman Empire and took control of the valley two years before the game's present. He governs from Greifberg Castle above Svartrau with three vrakhir boyars.

Those regional rulers are not presented as copies of one another:

  • Xanthe controls the southeast. She has lived in the valley for centuries and conducts experiments, grows the Blood Guard, and searches for ancient secrets. Her reason for serving a younger vrakhir is deliberately unresolved.
  • Ambrus controls the north and oversees the collection, transport, and storage of human blood. He was turned during Brencis's takeover, making him the youngest of the ruling vrakhiri profiled by Bandai Namco.
  • Bakir rules the southwest. His profile presents him as an experienced and openly cruel warrior responsible for rewarding supporters and punishing resistance.

The profiles establish their territories and functions. Boss strategies, ability rewards, and route consequences now live in the relevant launch guides; start with the vrakhiri blood ability guide before deciding which rulers to confront.

Anca, Marat, and Lacra

Anca has known Coen for years. The official description says she taught him to read and encouraged him to look beyond the obvious meaning of words. It also makes clear that she carries a significant secret, without revealing what it is. The official PlayStation and Xbox previews identify her as the herbalist Coen visits during the prologue.

Marat leads a rebellion against the vrakhiri. He is described as courageous and charismatic, able to inspire loyalty while remaining alert to betrayal. In the released game, he also goes by Crake and has a complete male romance route beginning with The Firebrand.

Lacra is herself a vrakhir, but her stated objective is to remove Brencis. Her five-quest launch route can become a romance. Eating the Mandrake gives Mandrake Ward; drinking her blood in the later romance conversation unlocks Mesmerize. The Lacra reward breakdown separates the two choices and their source evidence.

Romance routes: Anca, Crake/Marat, and Lacra are the three launch-build options, and the routes are not mutually exclusive. Use the romance overview, Anca route, Crake route, or Lacra route for quest order and fail states.

What remains route-dependent?

The current official pages do not provide:

  • A complete companion or follower roster
  • Recruitment requirements or approval systems
  • Every character who can survive or die
  • Quest-by-quest allegiance outcomes
  • Voice actor credits for all eight profiles

Those answers depend on player choices or still lack a reliable published source. This hub keeps the cast overview spoiler-light and sends route-specific questions to the dedicated walkthroughs.
